Dear Thalia,
I am writing to alert you to a deplorable ad campaign currently running on the Web site of a major U.S. university student newspaper. Paid for by a Holocaust denial group, the ad links to a hate-filled Web site designed to manipulate young minds.
These days it’s easy and cheap to propagate hate: the ad cost a mere $75 to run for 30 days. We cannot afford to be silent in the face of such offensive and dangerous rhetoric. Please help the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum continue to disseminate the truth about the Holocaust by making a generous gift today.
While we can’t stop haters, we can minimize their impact. But we need your help.
Spreading hate and lies is cheap: it cost only $75 for one Holocaust denial group to reach tens of thousands of students. Today, I ask you to take a stand against those who spread such venom by making a $75 gift of your own. While their $75 goes to promoting antisemitism and hate, your $75 will combat denial by preserving and presenting the truth. Please support this vital work.
Sincerely

Sara J. Bloomfield Director

Exodus 33
Commentary of the Chapter 33 of the book of Exodus:In the previous chapter, we learn that the people fall and sin before God, because the people choose to build a golden calf. Moses took the claf and the tables and broke them beneath the mount; because the people were sinning such as dancing naked to the shame of their enemies. Moses made the people drink powdered water, which came from the burnt ashes of the golden calf that he hand destroyed in a rage of fit and anger. Moses gathered all the Levites from his Tribe. Then, Moses told the people what God said to do, and there was a great smoting of men that day, three thousand men fell because they worshipped a god and danced naked to the same of their enemies. Moses said, "The god of Israel said, "Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout this camp and execute the people such as a man's brother, companion and neighbor etc." Moses, asked the people who is on the LORD's side? The people that were on the LORD's side went with Moses. However, Joshua remained in the tent of Moses, the entire time that God is speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai - and he receives the first set of tablets, two tablets of the Ten Commandments. Moses asked the people to conscentrate theirselves upon their brother and receive a blessing. Lastly, Moses returned to THE LORD and asked that his name be blotted out of the book, of Life. God responded that his name would not be removed from the book. Meanwhile the pillar cloudy stood over the tabernacle door; and then all the people worshipped at their tent door. God visited the children of Israle and had looked upon their affliction. Moses prayed to God and asked Him to give him grace, and to let him know who He would send with him, and consider His people as a (sovereign) nation. He (God) quickly replies and says, "My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest." Moses wants to absolutely be sure that God will be with him more than just an early morning walk where there is an occassionally jacking. He know he needs the divine intervention of God to move pass Pharaoh and his servants, in Egypt. Moses knows this is going to be a battle to occupy and possess the land of Canaan, that shall be given as an inheritance to Israel. In this chapter, the annointing continues, and the word of God is, "1And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: 2And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: 3Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way." In Chapter Thirty-three of the Book of Exodus, the people also heard the word of God and put away their ornaments while they were at the foot of Mount Horeb. Moses took the tabernacle and pitched it outside from the camp. However, the people that sought the LORD made the effort to travel to the tent. The people would stand and watch Moses until he went into the tabernacle, as a cloudy pillar had descended and stood at the door, the LORD traveled to the tent, called the Tabernacle of the congregation. The LORD talked with Moses faced to face like a good friend. Next, Moses continues to ask God many questions to be assured that God is still determined go with him and His people. The word of God speaks unto Moses saying, "I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name." Therefore, Moses prayed to God that if he had found grace in the sight of the LORD, that he show him His way and His will. Moses then asked God if he had found grace in the sight of the LORD, that his people may be considered a nation, that is sovereign. Moses also said, that he wants God to show him God's glory. God responds that he will hasten to perform His word, by saying, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen." In this chapter Moses also petitions God saying, "The covenant shall be known here, that I and your people have found grace in sight." At the moment, maybe Moses did not feel that his people could go up with the LORD's help, or right hand. Moses said that the people and he shall be separate from all the people that are upon the face of the earth ( Exodus 33:17). Lastly, Moses asked God to show him the glory of God. God responded to Moses saying, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee. I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you. I will show mercy" ( Exodus 33:19). Exodus 33: The Command to leave Mount Sinai (The Mountain of God) 1And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: 2And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: 3Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way. 4And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments. 5For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee. 6And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb. 7And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp. 8And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle. 9And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the Lord talked with Moses. 10And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door. 11And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. 12And Moses said unto the LORD, "See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. 13Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people." 14And He said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. 15And he said unto Him, "If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. 16For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth." 17And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. 18And he said, "I beseech thee, shew me thy glory." 19And He said, "I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy." 20And he said, "Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live." 21And the LORD said, "Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: 22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: 23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen." ( Exodus 33, King James Version)

Then answered I, and said, "So be it," O LORD. ( Jeremiah 11:1-5, King James Version) Psalm 19:1 - 1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. ( Psalm 19:1, King James Version) Matthew 10:16-39 - 16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; 18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. 19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. 21And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. 23But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. 24The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. 25It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? 26Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. 27What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. 28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. 29Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. 30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. 32Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. 34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. 37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. 39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. ( Matthew 10:16-39, King James Version) Matthew 11:26-29 - 26Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. 27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. 28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Exodus 34 1And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest. 2And be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and present thyself there to me in the top of the mount. 3And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount. 4And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. 5And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, 7Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. 8And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped. 9And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O LORD, let my LORD, I pray thee, go among us; for it is a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance. 10And he said, Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee. 11Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 12Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither thou goest, lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee: 13But ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves: 14For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: 15Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and do sacrifice unto their gods, and one call thee, and thou eat of his sacrifice; 16And thou take of their daughters unto thy sons, and their daughters go a whoring after their gods, and make thy sons go a whoring after their gods. 17Thou shalt make thee no molten gods. 18The feast of unleavened bread shalt thou keep. Seven days thou shalt eat unleavened bread, as I commanded thee, in the time of the month Abib: for in the month Abib thou camest out from Egypt. 19All that openeth the matrix is mine; and every firstling among thy cattle, whether ox or sheep, that is male. 20But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty. 21Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in earing time and in harvest thou shalt rest. 22And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. 23Thrice in the year shall all your menchildren appear before the LORD God, the God of Israel. 24For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. 25Thou shalt not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be left unto the morning. 26The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the LORD thy God. Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk. 27And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel. 28And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. 29And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. 30And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him. ( Exodus 34, King James Version) 31And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. 32And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. 33And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. 34But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. 35And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him. ( Exodus 34:31-35, King James Version)
Commentary on Exodus 34: In this chapter, Moses creates another tablet; because he broke the first tablet with the Ten commandments. Then Moses went up to Mount Sinai, as God had commanded him with the new tablets - that he had broken in his fit of rage against the sinners. The the LORD descended into the cloud and stood with Moses the LORD and hasten to perform His word, he proclaimed the name of the LORD (Exodus 34:6-7) . (Exodus 32:19 and Exodus 33:19; and Exodus 34:6-7, King James Version) Like the LORD, Moses hastened to make obescience to the LORD, to worship with his head bowed down toward the earth. Then Moses asked God to go amongs the sitff-necked people, and asked God to pardon the iniquity and sin, and take the people as an inheritance. God agreed and made a covenant, and the requirements consist of observing all the commandments. In Capter 35, Moses has come down from the mountain for forty days and forty nights. The children of Israel are at the foot of the mountain waiting for Moses to come down and tell them all that the LORD has commanded of them through Moses. God writes on the tablet, the ten words of the Ten Commandments, called the Ten Commandments. In closing this chapter, let us remember that after Moses would behond the glory of God,he would wear a veil. Moses placed a veil on his face whenever he had spoken with the children of Israel. However, Moses would take jos veil off of his face, until he would leave from Mt. Sinai before the presence of God. Then Moses, he would place the veiol on his face and speak with the children of Israel, regarding the commandments of the LORD. Yet the veil kept everyone from being afraid to see the skin on Moses face; and he would simultaneously speak with God (Exodus 34:29-35).

March 09 Worshipping the veal of the calf
Exodus 32: The Golden Calf The LORD punishes the people who build the calf because have sinned against Him: he punishes the sinful people by blotting out their name in the book; and by plaguing the people. The word of the LORD came to the Levi tribe and they did as God commanded and according to the word of Moses and killed three thousand men; brother, companion, neighbor; because the people were shameful and unrestrained among their enemies. The sages say that Hur, the son of Miriam was killed by the people who had asked that the golden calf - go before them as their god.Moses return to thepeople after descending from Mt. Sinai, the mountain of God. Today so many people are set in their ways, and error to sinful shame that they too will never clib God's holy mountain. Moses is very angry with the people about the golden calf and burns the calf and makes the people drink the water, with the scattered pieces of the calf in the water. The word of God spoke unto Moses saying, "7And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 9And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: 10Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
Next Moses pleads with god to spare the people, so that God would not destroy the people. Moses also reminds God promised his forefather, His servants, eternally to give their children the promise land. The LORD, then relents His harm which He said he would do to the aggregiously sinful people.
Exodus 32:1-10: 1And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, "Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him." 2And Aaron said unto them, "Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me." 3And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. 4And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 5And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, "To morrow is a feast to the LORD." 6And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 7And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves: 8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. 9And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people: 10Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation. Disciples References for Exodus 32:Luke 21:34-38 (King James Version), Jesus said, 34And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. 37And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. 38And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.Jeremiah 27:13 - 13Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the LORD hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? ( Jeremiah 27:13, King James Version) Jeremiah 44:15-30 - 15Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying, 16As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. 17But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. 18But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. 19And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men? 20Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying, 21The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind? 22So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day. 23Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day. 24Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt: 25Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. 26Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth. 27Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them. 28Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or their's. 29And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil: 30Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life. Disciples References for Exodus 30:22-33:1 Kings 8:3-11 - 3And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. 4And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up. 5And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude. 6And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims. 7For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above. 8And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day. 9There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. 10And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, 11So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD. ( 1 Kings 8:3-11, King James Version) 1 Kings 8:17-21: 17And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 18And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart. 19Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name. 20And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 21And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. ( 1 Kings 8:17-21, King James Version) Mark 4:10-25: 10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14The sower soweth the word. 15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. 18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. 21And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 22For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. ( Mark 4:10-25, King James Version) Jeremiah 5:21 - 21Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: ( Jeremiah 5:21, King James Version) Ezekial 12:2 - 2Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house. ( Ezekiel 12:2, King James Version) Isaiah 42:18-19 - 18Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. 19Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD's servant? ( Isaiah 42:18-19, King James Version) Isaiah 43:8 - 8Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears. ( Isaiah 43:8, King James Version) Matthew 13:13 - 13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. ( Matthew 13:13, King James Version) Hebrews 9:1-15: 1Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. 2For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. 3And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; 4Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; 5And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. 6Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. 7But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: 8The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: 9Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience; 10Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. 11But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; 12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. 13For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: 14How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? 15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. ( Hebrews 9:1-15, King James Version) Disciple references for Exodus 30:34-38:Jeremiah 44:11-19 - 11Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah. 12And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach. 13For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: 14So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape. 15Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying, 16As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. ( Jeremiah 44:11-19, King James Version) Isaiah 56:5 - 5Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. ( Isaiah 56:5, King James Version) Isaiah 59:21 - 21As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever. ( Isaiah 59:21, King James Version) 1st Kings 12:19 - 19So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day. ( 1 Kings 12:19, King James Version) Exodus 31: 1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 3And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, 4To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 5And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. 6And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee; 7The tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereupon, and all the furniture of the tabernacle, 8And the table and his furniture, and the pure candlestick with all his furniture, and the altar of incense, 9And the altar of burnt offering with all his furniture, and the laver and his foot, 10And the cloths of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the priest's office, 11And the anointing oil, and sweet incense for the holy place: according to all that I have commanded thee shall they do. 12And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 13Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. 14Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. 18And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. ( Exodus 31, King James Version)

Aaron and his sons are consecrated to an everlasting Priesthood: Exodus 29:15-18 - 15Thou shalt also take one ram; and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands upon the head of the ram. 16And thou shalt slay the ram, and thou shalt take his blood, and sprinkle it round about upon the altar. 17And thou shalt cut the ram in pieces, and wash the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, and unto his head. 18And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt offering unto the LORD: it is a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear. 10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. ( Revelation 13:6-10, New King James Version) Luke 3:2,3,8,9 - 2 while Annas and Caiaphas were high priests, the word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. 3 And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, 4 as it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: “ The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘ Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight. 5 Every valley shall be filled And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough ways smooth; 6 And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”7 Then he said to the multitudes that came out to be baptized by him, “Brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones. 9 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.” ( Luke 3:2-9, New King James Version) Revelations 15:3-83 They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “ Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints! 4 Who shall not fear You, O Lord, and glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all nations shall come and worship before You, For Your judgments have been manifested.” 5 After these things I looked, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened. 6 And out of the temple came the seven angels having the seven plagues, clothed in pure bright linen, and having their chests girded with golden bands. 7 Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. 8 The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter the temple till the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed. ( Matthew 19:28-30, New King James Version) Mark 13:9 - 9 “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. ( Mark 13:9, New King James Version) 2 Samule 5:1-3 - 1 Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Indeed we are your bone and your flesh. 2 Also, in time past, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the LORD said to you, ‘You shall shepherd My people Israel, and be ruler over Israel.’” 3 Therefore all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the LORD. And they anointed David king over Israel. ( 2 Samuel 5:1-3, New King James Version) Perils of Not Progressing. Hebrews 6:1-3, 1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. Jesus Institutes the Lord's Supper: The Gospel of Luke, Chapter 22, verses 14-23, 14And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. 15And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. 21But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table. 22And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed! 23And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. ( Luke 22:14-23, King James Version) The Daily Offerings.Exodus 29:41-46 - 41And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD. 42This shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD: where I will meet you, to speak there unto thee. 43And there I will meet with the children of Israel, and the tabernacle shall be sanctified by my glory. 44And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar: I will sanctify also both Aaron and his sons, to minister to me in the priest's office. 45And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God. 46And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God. Luke 8:4-8 - The Parable of the Sower.4 And when a great multitude had gathered, and they had come to Him from every city, He spoke by a parable: 5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. Its horns shall be of one piece with it. 3 And you shall overlay its top, its sides all around, and its horns with pure gold; and you shall make for it a molding of gold all around. 4 Two gold rings you shall make for it, under the molding on both its sides. You shall place them on its two sides, and they will be holders for the poles with which to bear it. 5 You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. 6 And you shall put it before the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with you. 7 “Aaron shall burn on it sweet incense every morning; when he tends the lamps, he shall burn incense on it. 8 And when Aaron lights the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense on it, a perpetual incense before the LORD throughout your generations. 9 You shall not offer strange incense on it, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering; nor shall you pour a drink offering on it. Project Ezra Suggested readings for week of March 6th Jeremiah 10 Hello Project Ezra! This week’s reading, and particularly the earlier portions, contrasts false gods with the true God, giving characteristics of both. It specifically mentions idols of other countries and cultures, idols made of gold and silver who have no power, in contrast with the true God who made the heavens and the earth. I believe it would be safe to say that whether you live here in the States, in Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zeland, Asia or Africa (we have Project Ezra members in all those places) idolatry is epidemic and takes many forms. Foreign gods here seem to frequently be a sign of cultural diversity and tolerance, and many people will pick a religion more for it’s popularity and it’s trappings than for it’s truth. Faith systems like Buddhism and Wicca have become almost trendy, and it’s amazing the new surge of interest in Islam AFTER the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, likely due to the media bending over backwards to NOT blame Islam in general for the attacks, in the name of political correctness. All of these facts of course circle back to the question of what people are believing in to save them, and why? Just like the pieces of wood covered with gold or silver that are mentioned in Jeremiah 10, none of these belief systems can save. None can deal with our biggest problem, our sinful state before a holy God. So, ask people what they are depending on. An idol? The sayings of a man or woman who is now dead and gone? The prayers of a dead saint? Their own goodness? Or are they depending on the Living God, the one God who not only gave us his law but, knowing we would not be able to keep it, provided a solution in his own blood? I pray that is helpful We are now coming close to a full year of Project Ezra. Those of you who have been with us from the beginning will remember Mission Good Friday, the first Project Ezra event conceived by Tony Miano. Well, we are now approaching Good Friday and Easter once again, and I’m praying this will be a time for a new surge of interest and participation in Project Ezra. As last year we will be reading Matthew chapters 26 through 28. I would encourage you to invite two people who have never participated before to join you and each read a chapter. I will post more information on the event soon and put up an event page, put you might want to start thinking about who to invite and talking to them now. The idea of reading or sharing the gospel aloud in public takes some getting used to, but I’m sure every one of us knows a couple of people who love the Lord but who have not been active in publicly sharing their faith. Talk to them, tell them about Project Ezra and what we do, and invite them to join you. You might be surprised who says yes! All for His glory! Dan

20And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always. 21In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the testimony, Aaron and his sons shall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: it shall be a statute for ever unto their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel. EXODUS 28Exodus 28:1-5 - The Priestly Garments 1And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons. 2And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty. 3And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. 4And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office. Exodus 28:6-14 - The Ephod, A memorial unto the sons of Israel5And they shall take gold, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen. 6And they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, of scarlet, and fine twined linen, with cunning work. 7It shall have the two shoulderpieces thereof joined at the two edges thereof; and so it shall be joined together. 8And the curious girdle of the ephod, which is upon it, shall be of the same, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. 9And thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel: 10Six of their names on one stone, and the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth. 11With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be set in ouches of gold. 12And thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for a memorial. 13And thou shalt make ouches of gold; 14And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shalt thou make them, and fasten the wreathen chains to the ouches.
Exodus 28:15-30 - The Breast Piece (Breastplate) 15And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. 16Foursquare it shall be being doubled; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span shall be the breadth thereof. 17And thou shalt set in it settings of stones, even four rows of stones: the first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this shall be the first row. 18And the second row shall be an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. 19And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. 20And the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be set in gold in their inclosings. 21And the stones shall be with the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet; every one with his name shall they be according to the twelve tribes. 22And thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains at the ends of wreathen work of pure gold. 23And thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate. 24And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breastplate. 25And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt fasten in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod before it. 26And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the breastplate in the border thereof, which is in the side of the ephod inward. 27And two other rings of gold thou shalt make, and shalt put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod. 28And they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod. 29And Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before the LORD continually. 30And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before the LORD continually. The faithful Servant and the Evil Servant: Final disciple teachings of the Lord and Saviour Jesus ChristLuke 12:35-48 - Jesus had just finished preaching a parable of the Rich fool, he said in verse 34, "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." 35Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; 36And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. 37Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. 38And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. 39And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." 41Then Peter said unto him, " Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?" 42And the Lord said, " Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? 43Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 44Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath. 45But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; 46The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. 47And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. Christ (the annointing) Brings Division 49I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished! 51Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 52For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. 53The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law." Discern the Time 54And he said also to the people, "When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is. 55And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass. 56Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time? Make Peace with Your Adversary 57Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? 58When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 59I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite." ( Luke 12:35-99, King James Version) Commentary:
The commandment to create ephods, crowns, robes, breast plates, turbans and other priestly garments; curtains, veils, taches, rings, an ark for the testimony in the most holy place and to remain holy is given in these two chapter of the book of Exodus (Chapters 27 and 28). God wants to sanctify you by giving you the best that he has from his threshingfloor, so you can never have an excuse to want and not have; but today we are faced with the signs of the times that prevent the everlasting statutes and commandments presented in the bible. As you can see the neglect to fulfill the scriptures in the Bible - the gospel is backed by the power of God.
The breast plate is especially designed to bear the names of the sons of Israel, and is later called the Urim and Thummim (Lights and Perfections). The High Priest wore the priestly garments when he went before the tabernacle of meeting, or near the altar to minister in the holy place before the LORD. He also wore a jeweled breast plate with twelve jeweled gem stones; and wore a pure gold engraved plate on his forehead that read, "Holy to the LORD." Aaroln shall continually wear the seal on his forehead and bear the judgement of the children of Israel's iniquity of the holy things that the children of Israel hallow in all the holy gifts, that they may be acceptable before the LORD, their God - and they do not incur (guilt) iniquity and die. Although the ephod and the breast plate are memorials unto the LORD, and therefore this patriarch of the Sons and descendants shall be sealed as family forever; the priestly garments are everlasting stattues to Aaron and his Sons, and was practiced in the nation of Judah, until it fell and many of the remnant did not escape while fleeing in Egypt. May your service and praise for God be perfect and the annointing reveal the hidden truths in the scripture of our LORD, given to Moses and then to us, as the word of God. Jesus said that greatness can be measured in the least by his service to his God in the God of Israel - avoiding the wrath of God, but the follownig list are other attributes of God:
- spirit
- wisdom
- grace
- word
- will
- inspiriation
- prepared
- throne
- commandment
- power
- love
- angels
- sons
- Kingdom

Israeli & Palestinian Seeds talk to a member of the religious panel. Over 100 Seeds bridge religious, political divides
"Now, more than ever, I believe that it is important to dialogue with the other side," said one of the Israeli and Palestinian teenagers who participated in an overnight seminar on February 5-6.
The binational event took place outside Jerusalem, at Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam, the only intentional Arab-Jewish community in Israel.
The Seeds watched a theatrical performance detailing personal narratives of Jerusalem residents from both sides of the city, asked difficult questions of a panel of clerics, and met for intense dialogue sessions.
The clerics--a rabbi, a Catholic priest, and a sheikh--spoke about the importance of Jerusalem in their respective religions, and about tolerance of other faiths. Seeds listened intently and asked thought-provoking questions, covering topics such as Jesus' command to love one's enemy, the role of jihad in Islam, and the Ten Commandments.
The seminar's three dialogue sessions were led by graduates of the 15-month Seeds of Peace facilitation course, which provides professional training to Seeds alumni in their 20s. The discussions gave both Israelis and Palestinians a chance to share their recent personal experiences and views on the conflict.
The participants were excited to be with each other again and to learn, explore and talk together--something so rare given the current situation.
An Arab-Israeli news channel aired a segment on the seminar during its evening broadcast.

Hi THALIA,
Did you know that NOT smoking can be dangerous to your health? Actually, I'm talking about your ORGANIZATIONAL health. Of course cigarettes can and will still kill you.
This past week I delivered a three-day leadership development workshop in Georgia. One of the many issues we discussed centered around engaging employees. Some of the attendees pined for the days when both management and staff took time away to network and toss around great ideas. This usually happened at the designated smoking areas. I thought about that and reflected back on my Navy days when the smoking area was the informal gathering center for similar activity. While I didn't smoke (I used Kodiak back in those days), I do remember how much business actually was conducted there, free from the bureaucracy and rules. In fact, more problems got solved during those meetings than during lengthy, formal staff meetings.
Has the ban on smoking resulted in a lack of organizational health?
Possibly.
Unless you provide an outlet for some type of informal networking, free from the entrapment of normal channels, you may in fact be missing out on some new ideas or solutions to chronic problems. Should smoking be allowed and even encouraged then?
Absolutely not!
Instead, if you're in a management or supervisory role, why not set up opportunities where this informal idea exchange can occur? If you don't have that positional authority, why not establish your own forum of informal networking? There is strength in that network that you'll need if you want to succeed in any role.
Now I realize my readers may not always be in managerial roles, but the lessons of breaking free for short periods of venting and creativity apply to all. Are you taking time to reenergize and reengage with those around you? If not, why not take some time this week to do so!
Towards your Total Career Success, Malcolm
ps. Hey I am in the process of taking my passion for developing the next great generation of managers and making that a brand. I'm stuck trying to figure out what to call it. My initial thought is something like "The Management Factor" or "Building Better Managers" where what I do is evident in the title. Can you help me think of some good ideas? Just email them back to me at coach@contactmycoach.com or you can just reply back to this email. When I get a good list together, I'll do an online survey. Whoever gives me the winning name gets a copy of ALL of my books! |

From: Jerry Fowler Sent: Monday, February 22, 2010 08:12 AM To: Suzie Armstrong Subject: On the ground in Sudan
As I write this I am in Khartoum, Sudan, having just returned from a week of traveling through Darfur. Although I've traveled to eastern Chad to meet with Darfuri refugees who fled the country, this is the first time I've actually been to Sudan and Darfur. I applied for a visa in 2004, but only recently did the Sudanese government give me permission to come. I came with my colleagues Mark Lotwis and Sean Brooks.
The chance to meet with displaced Darfuris inside Darfur, and in general to see firsthand this country that I have read and thought so much about, has been profoundly moving. One of the most striking things in camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs), as in refugee camps in Chad, is the children - living in the present, as children everywhere are so good at doing, but not totally unaffected by the turmoil that has swirled around them. As we were leaving one camp, a little girl who couldn't have been more than three and a half feet tall flashed the omnipresent thumbs up sign and chanted, "Bashir is a criminal, the khawaja (foreigner) tells the truth."
We will be providing more in depth reporting on our trip, which is continuing as we leave to spend several days in southern Sudan. But I wanted to give you a very quick update based on our time so far in Khartoum and Darfur.
Two big points have been reinforced from our time here. First, the issues of Darfur cannot be resolved in isolation from the larger issues of Sudan, and vice-versa. And the most significant issues of Sudan involve marginalization and exclusion. A great danger is that Darfur, seen as an isolated issue, gets ignored in coming months as attention focuses on the referendum on the independence of southern Sudan scheduled for next January. We must view Sudan holistically.
Second, there is an important role for the international community to play in helping to create a space for Sudanese to resolve the issues of Sudan without the use of extreme violence against civilians. It was such violence, used particularly by the government and its allies, that riveted the world's attention on Sudan. Extreme violence is not happening now, but the potential remains.
In that regard, in Darfur we found an uneasy situation - "neither peace, nor war," we heard a number of times. From IDPs we consistently heard expressions of fear and a pervading sense of insecurity. Clashes between the government and rebels are happening in some areas, but such organized fighting is not widespread. Nor is there systematic violence against civilians. But neither is there a sense of stability, security or peace. Quite simply, nothing is resolved. And a large portion of the civilian population remains extremely vulnerable.
We heard over and over from the IDPs and other Darfuris that they long for peace and security. One of the most poignant comments we heard was from a leader in one of the camps we visited. "Once milk is spilled on the ground," he said, "it is impossible to get it back in the pail." This proverb recognizes how challenging it is to create a durable peace and that it is not merely a matter of restoring things as they were. Creating that peace will require a sustained effort by the Sudanese themselves and sustained engagement by the international community.
Stay tuned as over the coming days, we will be reporting more on our assessment of the current situation on the ground.
Thank you for all you do for the people of Darfur and Sudan.
-Jerry

In less than one week, Spay Day 2010 kicks off in communities around the world -- with hundreds of organizations set to spay or neuter tens of thousands of animals.
It's an impressive global campaign, and you and your own pet can help, too -- without even leaving your computer. Simply enter your pet (via Facebook app) in the Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest, presented by VISA and Zazzle! We've received some great shots of pets from around the world who have already helped raise thousands of dollars for more than 300 organizations providing critical spay/neuter services.
Here's how it works:
Once you enter your pet's photo, you're automatically entered into the Judged Category-- and placed in the running to win some great prizes.
But you can help make next Tuesday an even bigger success by also participating in the Fundraisers Category. It's easy, here's how: When you enter your pet's photo, you get to select one of hundreds of participating charities. Then you forward your pet's picture to your friends and family via email or Facebook and ask them to vote for your pet. To vote, your friends donate just $1 per vote -- a donation that goes directly to the charity you selected.
Every dollar your pet raises will help save animals -- and get your pet one vote closer to winning a fantastic prize! More than 600 pets with the most votes will win prizes.
The February 26 deadline to enter is right around the corner. Enter your pet's photo today, and help end the euthanasia of millions of homeless pets each year.
Thank you for all you to do help pets and other animals.
*Our contest is open to all pets, even those who are no longer with us. If you would like, enter the contest as a memorial tribute to your pet.

February 19
On the 84th day, Tiger Woods finally spoke. He let the world know that he is sorry for what happened, that he will continue to get help for his addiction and that he will not be playing golf anytime soon.
Tiger gave us what appeared to be a previously outlined statement from his PR team, finishing with a plea for people to "believe in me again." His first message was that of sorrow, but the 14-minute statement turned heated when Tiger spoke of rumors that his wife Elin had chased and/or hit him with a golf club:
"There is one issue I really want to discuss. Some people have speculated that Elin somehow hurt or attacked me on Thanksgiving night. It angers me that people would fabricate a story like that. Elin never hit me that night or any other night. There has never been an episode of domestic violence in our marriage. Ever."
Tiger's mom, Tim Finchem and fellow PGA Tour player and former Stanford teammate Notah Begay III were in attendance, but Elin was not. That didn't stop Tiger from speaking about her most of the time.
Tiger admitted that he is the only one to blame, admitting, "I was unfaithful." He also apologized to his family, friends and fans, and said he thought he played by different rules because of money and fame, but agrees that those "actions were wrong."
Tiger admitted "he has a long way to go," but he is taking steps in the right direction, and said that no matter what people want to know about his marriage, it is going to stay within the family. "Please leave my wife and kids alone," Tiger stated.
As for golf, Tiger said that he will return to golf one day, he just doesn't know when that day will be. He also didn't rule out returning in 2010, but no date was promised.
All in all it was the statement we expected -- preempted, selective and, in typical Tiger fashion, guarded. Nobody will ever know if Tiger has changed, but it sure sounds like he meant it.

February 17 Memorial Parsha of Temurah Continued,
Jesus said that the disciples are the salt and light of the earth ( Matthew 5:13-20).
Salt and Light
13"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
The Fulfillment of the Law
17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

17And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.
1Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;
2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
3And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.
4Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

And it can cost a lot less. You can prepare both of the recipes here—enough to make several gifts—for about $20 total.*
dreamy creamy chocolate chip bars
Ingredients 1 tube (16.5 oz) of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened ½ cup sugar 1 egg |
Preheat oven to 350°. Cut cookie dough tube into 2 equal pieces. Gently press one half into a greased 8x8-inch pan to form a crust. In small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg until well combined. Spread cheese mixture over crust. Let your kids crumble remaining cookie dough into small pieces, then scatter them over the top of the cheese mixture. Bake 35–40 minutes. Allow to cool on a rack and cut into squares. Makes 9 bars. |
chocolate pretzels with a sweet winter coat
Ingredients 1 package pretzel rods 2 12-oz. bags semi-sweet chocolate chips Optional: white chocolate chips Toppings such as sprinkles, crushed candy canes or Oreo cookies**, toffee bits, colored sugars, mini- M&M candies, chopped nuts, shredded coconut |
Line a cookie sheet with wax paper. Melt chocolate chips in the top of a double boiler or microwave in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds at a time, stirring between heatings, until fully melted. Immediately dip rods ½ to ¾ deep into chocolate. (The chocolate’s very hot, so make this a Mom-only step.) Shake off excess and lay rods on cookie sheet. While chocolate is wet, your kids can scatter on toppings. For a two-tone effect, melt white chocolate, pour into Ziploc bag, snip bag’s corner and drizzle chocolate over rods. Chill or freeze ’til set. Store loosely covered in a cool, dry place. Makes about 30 pretzel rods. |
Wrap it up in festive styleSpread sheets of tinted cellophane out on the countertop. If you’ve made chocolate chip bars, set them on festively-colored paper plates, put the plates on the cellophane, and gather it at the top, tying off with colorful curling ribbon. (You’ll find it in the party supply aisle.) Reusable plastic containers in holiday colors are an easy alternative—just nestle the bars in waxed paper and pop a bow on top. If you’ve made pretzel rods, stack them like little Yule logs directly atop the cellophane and tie both ends with ribbon. Let the kids adorn the cellophane with holiday stickers, then hand them crayons and blank stick-on labels so they can handle the gift tagging. *excludes pretzel toppings **To crush candy canes or cookies, simply put them in a Ziploc bag and hit them with a wooden spoon or rolling pin.

Exodus 18:10 - Moses meets his father-in-law, Jethro a (pagan) Midianite priest and father of Moses’ wife Zipporah. Moses father-in-law meets him while he is somewhere near the Wilderness of Sin. The father-in-law brings his daughter and her family, Moses wife and his two sons, with him. Moses is reunited with his family, and his wife and their two sons – Gershom and Eliezer – the children (Exodus 4:25)
Exodus 18
1When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
2Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,
3And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:
4And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:
5And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:
6And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
7And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.
8And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
9And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
10And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
11Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
12And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.
13And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.
14And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
15And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:
16When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.
17And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
18Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
19Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:
20And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
21Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
22And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
23If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.
24So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.
25And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
26And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
27And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.

It has been more than a week since Haiti’s devastating earthquake -- and we are only beginning to understand the death and destruction that has profoundly impacted the country.
As we recognize the great loss of life, family, and community, we also recognize that even the worst of tragedies can bring out the best in people. In Haiti we’ve seen moments of great loss and despair underscore the importance of the hope we can place in each other. And while we take a moment to honor those who’ve suffered, we also reflect on the spirit of those picking up the pieces.
Here is an update from Dr. Dan Carucci, our Vice President for Global Health:
=======================================================================
When I joined a UN team setting up satellite phone facilities at a temporary camp, two Haitian men approached them and said they had already organized a committee to take census of people there. These men understood the importance of working in partnership with UN agencies as aid continues to be delivered. It was breathtaking to see the resilience of these people who had lost everything but still had the wherewithal to help the UN do its job of providing aid in an equitable way. I saw people who were working to help themselves and to help those bringing in aid.
